2022–23 Danish 1st Division
The 2022–23 Danish 1st Division (known as the NordicBet Liga for sponsorship purposes) marked the 27th season of the league operating as the second tier of Danish football and the 83rd season overall under the 1st Division name. The league is governed by the Danish Football Association (DBU). Participants Sønderjyske and Vejle finished the 2021–22 season of the Superliga in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 1st Division. They replaced AC Horsens and Lyngby Boldklub, who were promoted to the 2022–23 Danish Superliga. Næstved BK and Hillerød won promotion from the 2021–22 Danish 2nd Division. Vejle Boldklub
Vejle Boldklub is a Danish professional football club based in Vejle in Jutland. Formed in 1891, the club is one of the most successful clubs in Danish football history, having won the Danish championship five times and the Danish cup title six times. Lyngby Boldklub () is a professional Football (soccer), football club based in Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby, Denmark, founded in 1921. It is based at Lyngby Stadion. The club play in the Danish Superliga. Helsingør Stadium
Helsingør Stadium () is a Football (soccer), football stadium in Helsingør, Denmark. It is the home ground of FC Helsingør. It has a capacity of 4.000 of which 1.000 are covered seating. The new stadium was built in 2019, while the older one used in the Superliga was demolished. Following FC Helsingør's promotion to the Danish Superliga for the first time in 2017, the club had to seek special dispensation to use Helsingør Stadium for top division matches. This was granted after the addition of temporary facilities and given the club's plans to construct a new stadium. The first Superliga match at the ground was against Odense Boldklub on 24 July 2017, with a record attendance of 3,984. Helsingør ( , ; ), classically known in English as Elsinore ( ), is a coastal city in northeastern Denmark. SønderjyskE is a Danish sport corporation. They have a football team ( SønderjyskE Fodbold, based in Haderslev), two handball teams (SønderjyskE Håndbold, one male based in Sønderborg, one female based in Aabenraa) and an ice hockey team ( SønderjyskE Ishockey, based in Vojens). Jammerbugt Fodbold Club was a Danish club based in Pandrup, Jammerbugt Municipality, that folded after the court in Hjørring issued a bankruptcy decree on 22 August 2022. History Jetsmark IF The club was founded on 27 August 1973 as a merger between the two neighbouring clubs Kaas IF and Pandrup Boldklub. As Kaas had been playing in green shirts and Pandrup in white, the new first team shirt of course had to be a mix of those two colours. 2021–22 Danish 2nd Division
The 2021–22 Danish 2nd Division started with a group of twelve teams. After 22 rounds the group was split in a promotion group and a relegation group. The top two teams of the promotion group was promoted to the 2022–23 Danish 1st Division. Participants Kolding IF and Skive IK finished the 2020–21 season of the Danish 1st Division in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 2nd Division. They replaced Nykøbing FC and Jammerbugt FC, who were promoted to the 2021–22 Danish 1st Division.
