The 2022–23 season is the 136th season in the existence of Barnsley F.C., Barnsley Football Club and the club's first season back in League One following their relegation from the Championship the 2021–22 Barnsley F.C. season, previous season. In addition to the league, they also competed in the 2022–23 FA Cup, FA Cup, the 2022–23 EFL Cup, EFL Cup and the 2022–23 EFL Trophy, EFL Trophy. Transfers In Out Loans in Loans out Pre-season and friendlies Crewe Alexandra F.C., Crewe Alexandra and Worksop Town F.C., Worksop Town announced friendlies with Barnsley on 18 May 2022. Belper Town F.C., Belper Town did likewise on 24 May. On 1 June Barnsley confirmed their pre-season schedule. A trip to Harrogate Town A.F.C., Harrogate Town was later added to the schedule. Barnsley F
Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. The town's population was 71,422 in 2021, while the wider borough had a population of 244,600 in the 2021 census. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, Barnsley is located on the M1 corridor between the cities of Sheffield to the south and Wakefield to the north. Doncaster is to the east, Huddersfield to the north-west, and Manchester lies west across the Peak District to which it is connected to via the A628 road.
