2022 Wimbledon Championships – Men's Doubles
Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell defeated the defending champions Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–7(3–7), 4–6, 6–4, 7–6(10–2) to win the gentlemen's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. It was their first major title as a team, and their second title of the season. They saved a total of eight match points en route to the title (three in their first-round match against Ben McLachlan and André Göransson, and five in their semifinal match against Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury), and twice recovered from two sets down, having been taken to five sets in five of the six matches they played. This was the first edition of Wimbledon to feature a champions tiebreak (10-point tie-break) when the score reaches six games all in the fifth set, and the third edition to feature a final-set tiebreak. Matthew Ebden (born 26 November 1987) is an Australian professional tennis player who reached a career high of List of ATP number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in doubles. Wesley Koolhof
Wesley Koolhof (; born 17 April 1989) is a Dutch former professional tennis player who was ranked World No. 1 in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2023 Wimbledon Championships in men's doubles with Neal Skupski and the 2022 French Open in mixed doubles with Ena Shibahara. Koolhof also finished runner-up in men's doubles at the 2020 and 2022 US Opens, alongside Nikola Mektić and Skupski respectively. Austin Krajicek
Austin Krajicek ( ; born June 16, 1990) is an American professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 1 in doubles by the ATP in June 2023. He attained a career-high singles ranking of world No. 94 in October 2015. A former player for Texas A&M University, Krajicek won the national doubles title at the 2011 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships, the first in the program's history. He turned professional in 2012 and made his top 100 singles debut in 2015, a year in which he made the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 in Tokyo and broke through on the major level by reaching the second round of the US Open. Ivan Dodig (; born 2 January 1985) is a Croatian professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of World No. 2 in September 2023. He is a seven-time Grand Slam champion, having won men's doubles titles at the 2015 French Open with Marcelo Melo, the 2021 Australian Open with Filip Polášek and the 2023 French Open with Austin Krajicek. Filip Polášek
Filip Polášek (; born 21 July 1985) is an inactive Slovak professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He reached his highest doubles ranking of world No. 7 in February 2020, and has won 17 titles on the ATP Tour. He was forced to retire in 2013 due to health issues, but returned in 2018 and began the most successful phase of his career. Polášek won his first Grand Slam title at the 2021 Australian Open alongside Ivan Dodig, and also won the 2019 Cincinnati Masters and 2021 Indian Wells Masters, with Dodig and John Peers respectively. John William Peers (born 25 July 1988) is an Australian professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 2 on 3 April 2017, and a singles ranking of No. 456 in June 2012. He has won three Grand Slams, in doubles at the 2017 Australian Open with Henri Kontinen, and in mixed doubles at the 2022 US Open with fellow Australian Storm Sanders and the 2025 Australian Open with another compatriot Olivia Gadecki. Michael Venus (tennis)
Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987) is a New Zealand professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching. Venus and Harrison qualified for the year-end championships ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinals. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6 on 17 February 2025, and has won ten doubles titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2024 ATP Finals with Kevin Krawietz, becoming the first all-German pair to win the title.
