Matthew Ebden (born 26 November 1987) is an Australian professional tennis player who reached a career high of List of ATP number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in doubles. Ebden is a three-time Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam champion, having won the 2022 Wimbledon Championships – Men's doubles, 2022 Wimbledon Championships and 2024 Australian Open – Men's doubles, 2024 Australian Open in doubles with Max Purcell and Rohan Bopanna respectively, and the 2013 Australian Open – Mixed doubles, 2013 Australian Open in mixed doubles alongside Jarmila Gajdošová. The ATP rankings by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) are the merit-based system for determining the rankings in men's tennis. In doubles, the top-ranked team is the pair who, over the previous 52 weeks, has gathered the most ATP rankings points. Points are awarded based on how far a team advances in tournaments and the category of those tournaments. The ATP has used a computerized system for determining doubles rankings since 1976.
