2021–22 Wyoming Cowboys Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Wyoming Cowboys basketball team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by Jeff Linder in his second year as head coach at Wyoming. The Cowboys played their home games at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 25–9, 13–5 in MWC play to finish in fourth place. They defeated UNLV in the quarterfinals of the MWC tournament before losing to Boise State in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as a No. 12 seed in the East region where they lost in the First Four to Indiana. Jeffrey Michael Linder (born June 21, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and current men's assistant basketball coach at Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball, Texas Tech. Linder was previously an assistant coach at Emporia State Hornets basketball, Emporia State, Midland College, Midland, Weber State Wildcats men's basketball, Weber State, San Francisco Dons men's basketball, San Francisco, and Boise State Broncos men's basketball, Boise State from 2001 to 2016. From 2016 to 2020, Linder was head coach at Northern Colorado Bears men's basketball, Northern Colorado. Marcus Williams (born July 29, 2002) is an American college basketball player for the San Francisco Dons of the West Coast Conference (WCC). He previously played for the Wyoming Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies High school career Williams played basketball for Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas as a freshman. He transferred to Clear Springs High School in League City, Texas for his sophomore season to play with his older brother, Faite.
