2021–22 Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
The 2021 Independence Cup also known as Riviera Independence Cup 2021 due to the sponsorship from Riviera. It was the 12th edition of the Independence Cup, the main domestic annual top tier clubs football tournament organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The fifteen participants were competed this edition in the tournament. Dhaka Abahani is the defending champion, having defeated 3–0 goals Bashundhara Kings in the final of the tournament. Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
Independence Cup is a men's association football competition in Bangladesh. The competition started in 1972 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation, which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The tournament is open to Bangladesh Premier League (football), Premier League clubs and other registered teams. It can be considered the successor to the Independence Day Football Tournament from the East Pakistan era. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). Goal difference is calculated as the number of goals scored in all league matches minus the number of goals conceded, and is sometimes known simply as plus–minus. Three points for a win is a standard used in many sports leagues and tournament#Group tournaments, group tournaments, especially in association football, in which 3 points are awarded to the team winning a match, with no points awarded to the losing team. Uttar Baridhara Club () is a Bangladeshi football club, established in 1995, based in Kalachandpur, Baridhara, Dhaka.
