2020–21 Vancouver Canucks Season
The 2020–21 Vancouver Canucks season was the 51st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. Due to the Canada–United States border restrictions brought in as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canucks were re-aligned with the other six Canadian franchises into the newly formed North Division. The league's 56 game season was played entirely within the new divisions, meaning that Vancouver and the other Canadian teams played an all-Canadian schedule for the 2020–21 regular season as well as the first two rounds of the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs. On March 31, 2021, the first of several Canucks games were postponed due to COVID protocols. By April, a majority of the team had tested positive for COVID-19, including several coaches. North Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's North Division (branded as Scotia NHL North Division for sponsorship reasons) was one of the four divisions used by the NHL for the 2020–21 NHL season. This division was organized in 2020 as the result of the travel restrictions that had been in place since March 2020 between the Canada–United States border due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The entirety of the 2020–21 regular season and first two rounds of the playoffs were played between seven Canadian-based teams in the NHL. Of the four divisions in 2020–21, the North Division was the only one with a name not previously used by the NHL. 2020–21 Vegas Golden Knights Season
The 2020–21 Vegas Golden Knights season was the fourth season for the National Hockey League franchise that started playing in the 2017–18 season. They played their home games at T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. They made the playoffs for the fourth straight season after losing in the Conference Final to the Dallas Stars in the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs. Braden Holtby
Braden Holtby (born September 16, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He previously played for the Washington Capitals, Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the fourth round, 93rd overall, of the 2008 NHL entry draft by the Capitals, with whom he spent the first ten seasons of his career. After a couple years of development, Holtby became the Capitals' starting goaltender during the lockout-shortened 2012–13 season.
