The 2020–21 Colorado Avalanche season was the Colorado Avalanche seasons, 26th operational season and 25th playing season since the franchise relocated from Quebec Nordiques, Quebec prior to the start of the 1995–96 NHL season. West Division (NHL)
The West Division of the National Hockey League existed from 1967–68 NHL season, 1967 until 1973–74 NHL season, 1974 when the league realigned into two conferences of two divisions each. The division was reformed for the 2020–21 NHL season (and branded as the Honda West Division for sponsorship reasons) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 1967 the NHL doubled in size, going from six teams to twelve. The Original Six, as the pre-1967 teams became retroactively known, were grouped into the East Division (NHL), East Division, while the expansion teams were placed into the West Division. Jonas Olov Johansson (born 19 September 1995) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Johansson was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round, 61st overall, at the 2014 NHL entry draft. Hunter Miska (born July 7, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL).
