2018–19 PlusLiga
The 2018–19 PlusLiga was the 83rd season of the Polish Volleyball Championship, the 19th season as a professional league organized by the Polish Volleyball League SA () under the supervision of the Polish Volleyball Federation (). Due to financial issues of Stocznia Szczecin, the players have not received their salaries since the beginning of the season and most of them decided to leave the club by terminating their contracts by mutual agreement in late November or early December. On 13 December 2018, Stocznia withdrew from the competition. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle won their 8th title of the Polish Champions. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 14 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship (). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. The league in its current form was founded in 2000 and was originally known as Polska Liga Siatkówki ''(Polish Volleyball League)''. Since 2008 it is named PlusLiga after a mobile phone network brand, Plus. Trefl Gdańsk, previously known as Lotos Trefl Gdańsk, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Gdańsk in northern Poland. The club was founded in 2005 and promoted to PlusLiga, the top flight of Polish volleyball in 2011. Aleh Akhrem
Aleh Akhrem or Olieg Achrem (born 12 March 1983) is a Belarusian professional volleyball coach and former volleyball player, a former member of the Belarus national team, with which he competed in the 2013 European Championship. He serves as an assistant coach for Asseco Resovia. Personal life Aleh was born in Grodno. On 5 January 2011, he received Polish citizenship (he changed his name as a result). He is married to Natalia. They have two sons, Igor and Daniel. Career Club He was one of the main players and later the captain of Asseco Resovia. Mateusz Malinowski
Mateusz Malinowski (born 6 May 1992) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as an opposite spiker for LUK Lublin. Career Club In 2011, Malinowski joined Jastrzębski Węgiel. In the same year, he won a silver medal of the Club World Championship. In 2013, Malinowski won a bronze medal of the Polish Championship. During the 2013/2014 season, the team was promoted to the Final Four of the 2013–14 CEV Champions League held in Ankara, and after defeating Zenit Kazan in a third place match, won a bronze medal. Malinowski ended the 2013–14 PlusLiga season with his second bronze medal of the Polish Championship. In 2015, he moved to Cuprum Lubin. Michał Żuk (volleyball)
Michał Żuk (born 2 January 2009) is a Polish-Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Barcelona. Club career Early career Born in Blanes, Catalonia, Spain, to Polish parents from Zamość, Lublin Voivodeship, Żuk grew up in Girona, starting his career with Aqua Hotel, where he scored 27 goals in 16 games as a midfielder. This caught the eye of Spanish giants Barcelona, and he joined the Catalan club's La Masia academy in 2016. Żuk progressed well through Barcelona's youth ranks, racking up over 400 goals by the time he was eleven. He was seen as one of Barcelona's biggest young prospects.
