2018–19 Danish Cup
The 2018–19 Danish Cup, also known as Sydbank Pokalen, was the 65th season of the Danish Cup competition. The winners of the tournament, Midtjylland, earned qualification into the third qualifying round of the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League. Structure 88 teams, representing all levels of competition, participated in the 44 first-round matches. Eight more teams from the two highest divisions entered round two while the remaining six teams from the 2018-19 Danish Superliga joined the competition in the third round. Participants 102 teams competed for the Danish Cup. Danish Cup
The Danish Cup (; often referred to as Pokalen) is the official "single-elimination tournament, knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955. The winner will qualify for the UEFA Europa League tournament the following year, where they (as of the 2009–10 season) will enter in the third qualifying round. The final traditionally takes place on ''Kristi Himmelfarts Dag'' (Feast of the Ascension, The Ascension) and it is always played in the Danish national stadium Parken. However in the 1991 and 1992 seasons the final had been rescheduled to Odense Stadion and Århus Stadion respectively due to the renovation of Parken. Furthermore, in 2011, because Ascension Thursday fell on 2 June and an international match date was already allotted for this date, the Danish Cup final was played two weeks earlier on 22 May, which coincided with the annual Copenhagen Marathon. Hobro Idræts Klub (), commonly referred to as Hobro IK or HIK, is a professional football club based in Hobro, Denmark. Nykøbing FC is a Danish professional association football club based in Nykøbing Falster on Falster. Lyngby Boldklub () is a professional Football (soccer), football club based in Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby, Denmark, founded in 1921. It is based at Lyngby Stadion. The club play in the Danish Superliga. Hvidovre Idrætsforening, more commonly known as Hvidovre IF () is a Danish association football club from Hvidovre, Capital Region of Denmark. 2018–19 Danish 1st Division
The 2018–19 Danish 1st Division (known as the NordicBet Liga for sponsorship purposes) marked the 23rd season of the league operating as the second tier of Danish football and the 79th season overall under the 1st Division name. The league is governed by the Danish Football Association (DBU). The division-champion will be promoted to the 2019–20 Danish Superliga, while the runners-up and the third placed team will face promotion playoffs. The teams in 11th and 12th places are relegated to the 2019–20 Danish 2nd Divisions.
