Azerbaijan Cup
The Azerbaijan Cup () is a major association football competition in Azerbaijan. In its original form, it started in 1936, when Azerbaijan was a republic of the Soviet Union and it was not disputed by Azerbaijani teams in the Soviet league pyramid. Compared to major football competitions in many other countries, the tournament in Azerbaijan attracts considerably less public interest and even the cup final is rarely sold out. Consequently, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan has experimented with the format in order to raise the profile of the cup. Format The clubs from Azerbaijan First Division (2nd tier) play in the First Round. The winners of that round advance to the Second Round, where the clubs from Azerbaijan Premier League (1st tier) join. For the quarterfinals and the semifinals, the round-robin system is used. Andre Anthony Clennon (born 15 August 1989) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays for Humble Lions as a forward. Gabala City Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Gabala, Azerbaijan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Gabala FK. Aghabala Ramazanov (born 20 January 1993) is an Azerbaijani football coach and former professional footballer. He is the brother of Zaur Ramazanov. Career Club Ağabala Ramazanov started football with the Neftchi PFK's U-19 team. Ramazanov began his senior career in 2011 with Neftchi PFK. In 2012, he was transferred to Khazar Lankaran. History The club was established in 2016 and immediately joined the Azerbaijan First Division. After finishing their first season in the Azerbaijan Premier League in 7th position, Samir Aliyev left the role as manager by mutual consent on 22 May 2018.
