2018 World Lacrosse Championship
The 2018 World Lacrosse Championship () was the 13th edition of the international men's field lacrosse tournament for national teams organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). As many as 50 countries were expected to compete in the tournament; with the official total coming in at 46, which made the 2018 WLC the largest of all-time. The games were held in Netanya, Israel, on 12–21 July 2018. The United States won the tournament, its 10th championship in the history of the event. Hosting Manchester, England was originally selected to host the tournament, but withdrew in May 2017. Instead, the championships took place in Netanya, Israel between 12 and 21 July 2018. Netanya Stadium
Miriam Stadium (), commonly known as The Diamond Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Netanya, Israel. It is used as the permanent home ground of Maccabi Netanya F.C., Maccabi Netanya, and it has been used as the temporary homeground of Hapoel Hadera F.C., Hapoel Hadera. The stadium also serves the Israel national football team for some select home matches, as well as the main home ground of the Israel national under-19 football team as of 2021. History On 30 September 2003, Internal Affairs Minister of Israel, Minister of Internal Affairs Avraham Poraz approved the plan to build the stadium in an area called Birkat Hanoun. Graeme Hossack
Graeme Hossack (born July 22, 1992) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays as a defenseman for the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Archers Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). In 2020, Hossack became the second player to be named the NLL Defensive Player of the Year for three consecutive years after Kyle Rubisch won four straight from 2012–15. Ben McIntosh (born May 28, 1991) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League and Waterdogs Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. McIntosh was named to the All World Team at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship. Austin Staats (born April 23, 1998) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), and formerly a player for the Chaos Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). Rob Pannell (born December 11, 1989) is an American professional lacrosse player who plays for the Carolina Chaos of the Premier Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at Cornell University. He is one of the top leading scorers in men's Division I lacrosse history. He currently holds the Cornell career points record and assists record. He was the Ivy League's first ever three-time Player of the Year award winner. He was voted the NCAA's Outstanding Player of the Year in Men's Lacrosse in both 2011 and 2013 when he was awarded the Lt. Raymond Enners Award by the USILA. Dillon James Ward (born March 28, 1991) is a Canadian professional lacrosse goaltender currently playing for the Colorado Mammoth in the National Lacrosse League and the Philadelphia Waterdogs in the Premier Lacrosse League. Tom Schreiber
Tom Schreiber (born February 24, 1992) is an American professional lacrosse player with the Utah Archers of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League. He attended St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, New York, and played collegiate lacrosse at Princeton University. Curtis Dickson (born July 18, 1988) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who currently plays for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. Dickson previously played for the San Diego Seals and prior to signing with the Seals in August 2022, he also played 11 seasons with the Calgary Roughnecks.
