Ridder Arena
Ridder Arena is an indoor ice rink at the University of Minnesota, and home to the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey team. The arena is adjacent to the men's 3M Arena at Mariucci. It was completed in 2002, and includes the connected Baseline Tennis Center for the men's and women's tennis teams. It was the first facility in the United States built specifically for college women's ice hockey, and has hosted the NCAA Women's Frozen Four on four occasions. The arena is named for benefactors Robert Ridder and Kathleen Ridder. Background Planning for Ridder Arena began in the mid-1990s due to growth of the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program, and the need for a second arena on the University of Minnesota campus. Colgate Raiders Women's Ice Hockey
The Colgate Raiders women's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Colgate University and play in ECAC Hockey. The Raiders play their home games at Class of 1965 Arena. The Raiders have played in Division I hockey since the 2001–02 season after playing at the NCAA Division III from 1997 to 2001. History 1973–1983: The early years From 1973 to 1974, Colgate Women's hockey started as an intramural team. Despite interest from the players in making the team varsity, the Athletic Director said the team would require "sustained interest." In 1974, Colgate Women's Hockey became club team. For the players from 1974 to 1983, 57% had never played on a team before Colgate women's hockey. 92% had never played hockey before, and 62% started by playing on figure skates, using masking tape over the toe picks. Lenka Serdar
Lenka Slezak Serdar (born 21 July 1997) is a Czech-American ice hockey player and member of the Czech national team. She was signed with the Connecticut Whale of the now defunct Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) for the 2022–23 season. Serdar represented the Czech Republic at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship and in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Playing career Serdar grew up playing ice hockey in and around her home town of Lexington, Massachusetts in the Greater Boston area. Marlène Boissonnault
Marlène Boissonnault (born June 19, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender signed as a reserve for the Minnesota Frost in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She was previously signed by the Montreal Victoire. Playing career Boissonnault started playing hockey at a young age, moving up the minor hockey system. She would then play for Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay and later took the chance to play for Cornell University. Across four years of NCAA Division I women's ice hockey with the Cornell Big Red of ECAC Hockey, Boissonnault finished with 56 wins, the second highest total in the university's history, and 15 shutouts, the third most in Cornell history. Mallory Souliotis (born April 1, 1996) is a retired American professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the now defunct Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Connecticut Whale. Career Early career During high school, Souliotis played for the Noble and Greenough School, being named to the NEPSAC Division 1 Second All-Star Team in 2014. From 2014 to 2018, she attended Yale University, putting up 70 points in 117 NCAA games. She picked up 9 points in 26 games in her rookie collegiate season, being named her team's most improved player at the end of the year. Her production jumped up to 25 points in 29 games the following season, leading Yale in scoring and her 21 assists the third-highest single-season total in the university's history. Jaime Claire Bourbonnais (born September 9, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and the Canadian national team. Carly Elizabeth Bullock (born April 4, 1998) is an American professional ice hockey forward, currently playing with KMH Budapest in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL). She currently holds the record as the highest scoring Princeton University player of the 21st century. Playing career Bullock attended The Blake School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she was a five season member of the school's girls' ice hockey team, winning three state championships. Kristin O'Neill (born March 30, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and the Canadian national team. Playing career Junior Later that year, she won the Provincial Women's Hockey League championship with the Stoney Creek Jr. Sabres. Mercyhurst Lakers Women's Ice Hockey
The Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey team is a college ice hockey program representing Mercyhurst University in NCAA Division I competition as a member of the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) NCAA Division I Women's Hockey conferences and teams, conference. They play in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Mercyhurst Ice Center, located on the Mercyhurst campus. The program was started in 1999 and Michael Sisti has been its only coach. Maine Black Bears Women's Ice Hockey
The Maine Black Bears women’s ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The team's first year of play was in 1997–98. The Black Bears finished 6th in the 2019–2020 season, advancing to the semi-finals of the Hockey East tournament, before losing to the eventual champions Northeastern Huskies by a score of 1–3. The 2020 Hockey East women's ice hockey tournament was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but Maine would not have qualified even if the tournament had been played.
