2017–18 IIHF Continental Cup
The 2017–18 Continental Cup was the 21st edition of the IIHF Continental Cup, Europe's second-tier ice hockey club competition organised by International Ice Hockey Federation. The season started on 29 September 2017 and the final tournament was played on 12–14 January 2018. HC Yunost-Minsk ''( Belar. Юнацтва Менск, Junactva Miеnsk)'' is a Belarusian professional ice hockey team that plays in the Belarusian Extraleague. They play their home games at Chizhovka-Arena, located in Minsk. Yunost is the ten-times champion of Belarus, most recently in the 2020/2021 season. They won the Belarusian league three consecutive years thricely: in 2003/2004, 2004/2005, and 2005/2006; 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011; as well as 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021. 2016–17 EIHL Season
The 2016–17 Elite Ice Hockey League season was the 14th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season begun in early September and ended in March. Regular season champion Cardiff Devils were defeated in the playoff final by their Erhardt Conference rivals Sheffield Steelers 6–5 in double-overtime. From the 2016–17 season, the number of non British-trained players rose from 13 to 14, while the number of work-permit players remained at 11, according to a rule change first introduced in 2014. The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Teams from the Ligue Magnus can participate in the IIHF's annual Champions Hockey League (CHL), competing for the European Trophy. Participation is based on the strength of the various leagues in Europe (excluding the European/Asian Kontinental Hockey League). The Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in Central Europe. The league is made up of teams from Austria, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia. It was established in 2016 as a result of a merger between Serie A and the Inter-National League. Formation The Alps Hockey League was founded in spring 2016 as a joint venture between the Austrian Ice Hockey Association, the Italian Ice Sports Federation, and the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. Rungsted Ishockey Klub is a Danish ice hockey club from Rungsted. The elite team is called ''Rungsted Seier Capital''. History The club was founded in 1941. Nordsjælland Cobras The Nordsjælland Cobras was the elite team for Rungsted Ishockey Klub and played in the top Danish ice hockey league AL-Bank Ligaen. After filing for bankruptcy at the end of the 2009-2010 season, the team was excluded from the following season. Narva PSK () is a professional ice hockey team located in Narva, Estonia, which plays in the Unibet Hokiliiga, the top tier of ice hockey in Estonia. They play home games at the Narva Ice Hall.
