2016–17 LPB Season
The 2016–17 LPB season was the 84th season of the premier Portuguese basketball league, and the ninth season under the current Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) format. For sponsorship reasons, the league is also known as Liga Placard. S.L. Benfica (basketball), Benfica won its 27th title and recovered the title after beating defending champions FC Porto (basketball), Porto in the finals by 3–0. Format The competition format consisted of two stages: a regular season, comprising two phases, and the play-offs. In the first phase of the regular season, the twelve participating teams compete against each other in a Round-robin tournament, double round-robin system, with home and away matches. FC Porto (basketball)
Futebol Clube do Porto (), commonly referred to as FC Porto, or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional basketball team based in Porto. Created in 1926, it is the senior representative side of the basketball section of multi-sports club FC Porto. Ovarense Basquetebol
Ovarense Basquetebol is a professional basketball team that plays in Ovar, Portugal. The team plays in the LPB. The Ovarense created its section of basketball in 1970, with the initiative of a member entrepreneur, João Gonçalves, but in this period of time managed to assert itself as one of the standards and the inevitable reference method in Portugal. Oliveira de Azeméis () is a city and municipality in the Porto Metropolitan Area of Portugal. Administratively, the municipality belongs to the District of Aveiro. Ílhavo (), officially the City of Ílhavo (), is a city and municipality located in the Aveiro District of central Portugal. The population in 2021 was 39,239, in an area of 73.48 km2. Barreiro, Portugal
Barreiro () is a city and a municipality in the Setúbal District in Portugal. The population in 2021 was 78,345, in an area of . It is a region belonging to the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. Barreiro has a view of the city of Lisbon from Avenida da Praia and a riverside area called Alburrica. The mayor since 2017 has been Frederico Rosa, elected by the Socialist Party.
