2016–17 Boise State Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Boise State Broncos men's basketball team represented Boise State University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by seventh year head coach Leon Rice, played their home games at Taco Bell Arena as a member of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 20–12, 12–6 in Mountain West play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West tournament to San Diego State. They received an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Utah in the first round before losing in the second round to Illinois. Leon Rice
Leon Paul Rice (born November 25, 1963) is an American college basketball coach, and the head men's basketball coach at Boise State Broncos men's basketball, Boise State University of the Mountain West Conference. He replaced Greg Graham (basketball coach), Greg Graham as head coach of the Broncos on March 26, 2010. In his 2010–11 Boise State Broncos men's basketball team, first season, Rice led Boise State to the finals of the 2011 WAC men's basketball tournament, WAC tournament and to the semifinals of the 2011 College Basketball Invitational, College Basketball Invitational. He is the first Boise State head coach to win twenty games in two of his first three seasons and has twenty or more wins in nine of his twelve years. Anthony Drmic
Anthony Drmic (born 25 February 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Hobart Chargers of the NBL1 South. He is also contracted with the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Boise State Broncos and is their second all-time leading scorer. He led Boise State to two NCAA Tournaments during his 5 years with the Broncos. While he has represented the Australian under-19 team, he also holds a Croatian passport. Justinian Jessup (born May 23, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Bayern Munich of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Boise State Broncos and was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 51st overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. James Leroy Webb III (born August 19, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Unicaja of the Spanish Liga ACB and the Champions League.
