The 2016 season is Tromsø's second season back in the Tippeligaen following their relegation in 2013, their 29th season in the top flight of Norwegian football and their first season with Bård Flovik as their manager. Tromsø IL
Tromsø Idrettslag () is a Norwegian professional Football club (association football), football club based in Tromsø. They play their home games at the Romssa Arena which has a seating capacity of 6,801. Tromsø play in the Eliteserien. Despite never winning the Eliteserien title, they have finished as runner-up in 1990 Tippeligaen, 1990 and 2011 Eliteserien, 2011. They have won the Norwegian Football Cup, Norwegian Cup twice: in 1986 Norwegian Football Cup, 1986 and 1996 Norwegian Football Cup final, 1996, and were runner-up in 2012 Norwegian Football Cup final, 2012. Their wins make them the northernmost football club in the world to have won a national title. Morten Gamst Pedersen
Morten Gamst Pedersen (born 8 September 1981) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. During his spell for Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League he was known for his skill and long range goals. Pedersen began his career with Tromsø, then played for English side Blackburn Rovers between 2004 and 2013 making a total of 349 appearances. He then played for the Turkish side Karabükspor. He signed with Rosenborg in 2014, and won 2015 Tippeligaen, and the 2015 Norwegian Cup. In February 2016, he returned to Tromsø. Lasse Nilsen (born 21 February 1995) is a Norwegian football defender. He last played for the Eliteserien side Tromsø IL. Career He hails from Bleik and started his youth career in Høken, moving on to Andenes around his early teens. He then went to the regional great team Tromsø IL, with whom he signed a professional contract in April 2014. He plays as a left back or winger. He made his first team debut in the 2014 Norwegian First Division, which ended with Tromsø being promoted, and made his first-tier debut in May 2015 against Odd. In April 2018, he scored his first goal against Ranheim IL in a 4-0 win. He also scored the deciding goal in a 2-1 win against Rosenborg BK in June 2018. Gjermund Åsen
Gjermund Åsen (born 22 May 1991) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Lillestrøm. Club career Åsen joined Rosenborg BK from Strindheim before the 2010 season. He made his Rosenborg debut 7 March 2010 in the Norwegian Superfinalen against Aalesund, and made his league debut for Rosenborg in the first league game of the 2010 season against Molde on 14 March 2010. Åsen was on two short loan-spells at Ranheim in 2011 and 2012, but transferred to Ranheim after his second loan-spell on 1 August 2012. Simen Wangberg
Simen Søraunet Wangberg (born 6 May 1991) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a defender. Club career He came to Rosenborg as a junior player ahead of the 2008-season, from Nidelv. Before the 2009 season he became a member of the first team. He made his Rosenborg debut in a cup tie against Gjøvik in the spring 2009. On 7 August 2011, he scored Rosenborg's first goal with his hand in the 3–1 win against Molde. Magnus Andersen (footballer)
Magnus Andersen (born 28 May 1986) is a retired Norwegian football midfielder. Through his career he played for both Alta and Tromsø. Career Anderson started his career with Øksfjord IL. He represented Norway on U17 and U18 level. He went on to Alta IF, before transferring to Tromsø IL in the 2010/11 winter transfer window. During Tromsø IL's 2011-12 Europa League Qualification, Anderson scored a brace in their first leg, 5-0 thrashing against Latvian club Daugava Daugavpils. Hans Julius Eriksen Norbye (born 16 January 1987) is a Norwegian footballer who currently plays for Alta. Career Norbye was born and grew up in Karasjok. He was regarded as having talent for athletics during his younger days, but joined Tromsø IL to play youth football. He represented Norway internationally on youth level at the time. Filip Lončarić (born 17 September 1986) is a Croats, Croatian retired professional Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Lončarić joined GNK Dinamo Zagreb in 1994, aged just eight and made his breakthrough to the first-team squad for the 2005–06 Croatian First Football League, 2005–06 season.
