The 2015–16 Polish Cup was the 59th edition of the Polish Volleyball Cup tournament. PGE Skra Bełchatów beat ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the final (3–2) and won its seventh Polish Cup. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Basic play The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Trefl Gdańsk
Trefl Gdańsk, previously known as Lotos Trefl Gdańsk, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Gdańsk in northern Poland. The club was founded in 2005 and promoted to PlusLiga, the top flight of Polish volleyball in 2011. The 2015–16 PlusLiga was the 80th season of the Polish Volleyball Championship, the 16th season as a professional league organized by the Professional Volleyball League SA () under the supervision of the Polish Volleyball Federation (). Benjamin Toniutti
Benjamin Toniutti (born 30 October 1989) is a French professional volleyball player who plays as a setter for and captains both the Polish club Jastrzębski Węgiel and the France national team. Toniutti won a gold medal in the men's tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and is the 2015 European Champion and the 2021 Champions League winner with ZAKSA. Personal life Toniutti was born and raised in Alsace by his father Maurizio, an Italian French, and French mother Cathy. His parents often travel to attend Toniutti's league matches. Toniutti is fluent in Italian. He is married. In August 2015, his wife gave birth to their daughter. Srećko Lisinac
Srećko Lisinac ( sr-Cyrl, Срећко Лисинац; born 17 May 1992) is a Serbian professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for the Serbia national team. Career Club In the 2013–14 Bundesliga season, Lisinac won the German Champion title with Berlin Recycling Volleys. In 2014, he moved to PGE Skra Bełchatów, where he spent 4 seasons. On 8 October 2014, his team won the Polish SuperCup. On 7 February 2016, they won the Polish Cup and Lisinac himself was named the ''Best blocker'' of the tournament. In his final season with Skra, he won his second Polish SuperCup and the 2017–18 PlusLiga, besting ZAKSA on both occasions. In 2018, Lisinac moved to Italy and joined Trentino Volley. Paweł Zatorski
Paweł Zatorski (born 21 June 1990) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as a libero for Asseco Resovia and the Poland national team. Zatorski took part in 3 Olympic Games (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, winning a silver medal at the latter), and is a two–time World Champion (2014, 2018) and the 2021 Champions League winner with ZAKSA. Facundo Conte (born 25 August 1989) is an Argentine former professional volleyball player. Conte won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo 2020. Personal life Facundo was born in Vicente López, Buenos Aires, Vicente López, Argentina. Łukasz Wiśniewski (born 3 February 1989) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for Skra Bełchatów. He is a former member of the Poland men's national volleyball team, Poland national team. Personal life Wiśniewski was born in Włodawa. Resovia (volleyball)
Resovia, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Asseco Resovia, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Rzeszów in southeastern Poland, founded in 1937. They compete in the Polish PlusLiga. Initially part of the Resovia (sports club), Resovia multi-sports club founded 1905, it has operated independently since 2006. The club has won seven Polish Champion titles and three national cups. They won four league titles in the 1970s and the first title in the 21st century in 2011–12 PlusLiga, 2012, which put an end to Skra Bełchatów's dominance in the PlusLiga which lasted for 7 consecutive seasons.
