2015–16 Pacific Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Pacific Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of the Pacific (United States), University of the Pacific during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Alex G. Spanos Center and were members of the West Coast Conference. The Tigers were led by third-year head coach Ron Verlin. On December 12, 2015, Verlin was suspended indefinitely amid an NCAA investigation. Michael Edward Burns is an American assistant men's college basketball coach at Boise State. Early life and education Born in Tacoma, Washington, Burns graduated from Tyee High School in SeaTac in 1980. Burns first attended Idaho State University after high school. He later returned to the Seattle area to work as a concert promoter and worked with several grunge bands. Coaching career Burns became an assistant coach at Highline College, a junior college in Des Moines, Washington. After three years at Highline, Burns returned to Tyee High School as co-head coach for the 1995–96 season. From 1996 to 1999, Burns worked as an assistant coach at Central Washington University. North Idaho College (NIC) is a public community college in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It has an enrollment of approximately 3,900 undergraduate students. The Pacific Tigers represent the University of the Pacific (United States), University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, in intercollegiate athletics. The Tigers compete in NCAA Division I, and are currently in their second stint as members of the West Coast Conference (WCC). Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. The guards are typically called the "back court" and the forwards and centers the "front court". The Long Beach State Beach men's basketball team represents California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. The school's team competes in the Big West Conference. Because they won the 2024 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament, the team received an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament; the last time Long Beach State competed in this tournament was 2012.
