The 2015–16 Elitserien was the ninth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 23 October 2015, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 19 March 2016. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") () is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna Municipality, Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. IFK Kungälv
IFK Kungälv is a sports club in Kungälv in Sweden, founded in 1940, and mostly concentrated on the sport of bandy. The club has been playing in the Swedish bandy top division Elitserien for many seasons, at present since 2008/09. The home kit is a red jersey, blue trousers, and red socks. The home arena is Skarpe Nord. The supporter club is called Skarpa Gubbar. As all IFK clubs in Sweden, IFK Kungälv is a member of Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna. On 8 April 2016 it was announced that the club had not fulfilled the requirements for elite licence and therefore was kicked out of Elitserien from the 2016/2017 season, with two weeks of possibility to appeal against the denial. Dina Arena
Edsbyn Arena is a sports venue in Edsbyn, Sweden. It is the home of Edsbyns IF. Inaugurated on 22 September 2003 by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, it was the first indoor bandy rink in Sweden. Major work was completed following the 2002–2003 season. On 31 March 2003, construction of the ceiling began. The unit was shut down the same day, and removal of the former ice began. In April the same year, the wooden beams were delivered. Edsbyn () is a locality and the seat of Ovanåker Municipality, Gävleborg County, Sweden with 4321 inhabitants in 2020. It is located in the historical province of Hälsingland.
