Bollnäs () is a Swedish locality and the seat of Bollnäs Municipality, in Gävleborg County, Sweden. Before becoming known as Bollnäs, its name was ''Bro By'' (lit. Bridge Village). Bollnäs has a station along the Northern Railline ('' Norra Stambanan''), which it was connected to in 1878. The town became a main base for further northern expansion of the railroad. In 1884, it became a primary maintenance and repair workshop for the railroad. The railroad was the largest employer in Bollnäs for the greater part of the 20th century, until the 1990s when it was closed due to its location being no longer optimal. Bollnäs Municipality
Bollnäs Municipality () is a municipality in Gävleborg County, east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Bollnäs. The municipality evolved during a series of local government reforms in the 1950s and 1970s. It consists of six original entities and has its present shape since 1977. Geography Through the municipality, from north to southeast, runs the river Ljusnan. Among the localities situated at the river are Bollnäs and Arbrå. South of Bollnäs is the confluence of Ljusnan and its biggest tributary Voxnan. Nearby the town of Bollnäs are several water areas with fish such as trout, bass and pike. The streams Ljusnan and Voxnan also offer fishing, as does the tributary lake Vågen in Bollnäs. Swedish bandy champions () is a title held by the winners of the final of the highest Sweden, Swedish bandy league played each year, Elitserien (bandy), Elitserien. The final is called ''Svenska bandyfinalen'' ("Swedish Bandy Final") and is played in March. From the 2007–08 season, Saturday replaced Sunday as the final date, but was changed back to Sunday again and again to Saturday in 2015 in 2010. In 2009 Eurosport 2 showed it for the 1st time. History The first final was held in 1907, when IFK Uppsala Bandy, IFK Uppsala beat IFK Gävle with 4–1 in Boulognerskogen, Gävle. In 1912 two winners were declared, because no replay of the tied final could be played due to the weather. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") () is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna Municipality, Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. Haaken Gulleson was a Swedish painter and workshop leader in the early 16th century. His signature is found on six sculptures in southern Norrland. He has long been considered to be solely a sculptor, but recent research has seen him as a painter. He ran a workshop where his apprentices contributed to his work.
