2015–16 ACF Fiorentina Season
The 2015–16 season was the 89th season in ACF Fiorentina's history and their 78th in the top-flight of Italian football. Fiorentina finished the season in 5th place in Serie A, having topped the table early in the season. In the Coppa Italia, the club was eliminated in the round of 16, losing at home to newly promoted Carpi 1–0. Competing in the UEFA Europa League for the third season in a row, Fiorentina limped into second place in their group with a 3–1–2 record, and were eliminated in the Round of 32 by Tottenham Hotspur, 4–1 on aggregate. The 2015–16 season was also notable for being the first season since the 2011–12 season in which the club was not managed by Vincenzo Montella, who had achieved 4th-place finishes in each of his seasons with the club. ACF Fiorentina, commonly referred to as Fiorentina (), is an Italian professional Association football, football List of football clubs in Italy, club based in Florence, Tuscany. The original team was founded by a merger in August 1926, while the current club was refounded in August 2002 following bankruptcy. Fiorentina have played at the top level of Italian football for the majority of their existence; only four clubs have played in more Serie A seasons. Fiorentina has won two List of Italian football champions, Italian league titles, in 1955–56 Serie A, 1955–56 and again in 1968–69 Serie A, 1968–69, as well as six Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana. Ciprian Tătărușanu
Anton Ciprian Tătărușanu (; born 9 February 1986) is a Romanian former professional football player, footballer who played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. He started his senior career in Romania with ASC Daco-Getica București, Juventus București, going on to represent AF Gloria Bistrița, Gloria Bistrița and FCSB, FC Steaua București in the country. Tătărușanu made over 180 appearances in all competitions for the latter, and in the summer of 2014 joined ACF Fiorentina, Fiorentina on a Free transfer (association football), free transfer. After three seasons with the ''Viola'', he moved to France with spells at FC Nantes, Nantes and Olympique Lyonnais, Lyon. In September 2020, Tătărușanu transferred back to Italy and signed for AC Milan. Manuel Pasqual
Manuel Pasqual (; born 13 March 1982) is a retired Italian professional footballer who played for the Italy national team. He is an offensive left-back who is well known for his crossing ability. He is also capable of playing as a wide midfielder or as wing-back on the left in a 3–5–2 formation. Pasqual is a dead-ball specialist and often took free-kicks and corners for Fiorentina, providing several assists from his curling indirect set pieces and crosses. Club career Early career After a couple of seasons playing for lowly-placed Serie D teams such as Derthona and Pordenone, Pasqual joined Serie C1's Arezzo in January 2002, having previously played for Treviso, at that point also a team in Serie C1.
