2014–15 Men's FIH Hockey World League Final
The 2014–15 Men's FIH Hockey World League Final took place from 27 November to 6 December 2015 in Raipur, India. A total of 8 teams competed for the title. Australia won the tournament for the first time after defeating Belgium 2–1 in the final match. Host nation India won the third place match by defeating the Netherlands 3–2 on a penalty shootout after a 5–5 draw. Qualification The host nation qualified automatically in addition to 7 teams qualified from the Semifinals. The following eight teams, shown with final pre-tournament rankings, competed in this round of the tournament. 2014–15 Men's FIH Hockey World League
The 2014–15 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the second season of the men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in July 2014 in Sveti Ivan Zelina, Croatia and finished in December 2015 in Raipur, India. The Semifinals of this competition also served as a qualifier for the 2016 Summer Olympics as the 6 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualified. Australia won the tournament's Final round for the first time after defeating Belgium 2–1 in the final match. Nicholas Catlin
Nicholas Andrew Catlin (born 8 April 1989) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. Biography Catlin is from Marlow, and attended John Hampden Grammar School. Catlin started playing club hockey for Reading, initially as a junior and then senior in 2007. He joined Loughborough Students' the following season in 2008 and made his international debut in 2009 and played in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He had two more spells with Reading, sandwiched by a season playing in Belgium. Ian Martin Sloan (born 19 November 1993) is a Northern Irish field hockey player, who plays as a midfielder for Old Georgians and the England and Great Britain national teams. Henry Weir
William Henry Weir (born 13 February 1990) is an English field hockey player who played for the England and Great Britain national teams. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Biography Weir moved to Crewe aged 11 and started playing junior club hockey for the Crewe Vagrants before moving to Brooklands MU in 2010 and then on to Loughborough Students' from 2011 to 2013. While at Loughborough, Weir made his international debut against India in December 2012 at the Melbourne Champions Trophy. Matthew Gohdes (born 18 May 1990) is an Australian field hockey player. He plays for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League. He made his debut for the Australia men's national field hockey team in 2009 during a five-game test series in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jeremy Thomas Hayward (born 3 March 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. Hayward was part of the Australia men's national field hockey team, Australian team who won the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup. The team defeated the Netherlands men's national field hockey team, Netherlands 6–1 in the final. Hayward was also awarded Young Player of the Tournament at this event. Thomas Briels (born 23 August 1987) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Braxgata. He played a total of 359 times for the Belgium national team from 2006 until 2021.
