2014–15 Kazakhstan Basketball Championship
The 2014–15 Kazakhstan Basketball Championship () was the 23rd season of the Kazakhstan Basketball Championship, the highest professional basketball league in Kazakhstan. Its official designation in full was: XXIIth basketball Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan for men's teams (National league) (). The regular season ran from 8 October 2014 to 27 March 2015, May 9, 2004, 4 teams played 18 games each, with 6 confrontations between every side. The playoffs ran from 29 March 2015 to 10 April 2015, BC Astana won their fourth consecutive title by beating BC Almaty, Almatynski Legion in the final. BC Astana
Astana Basketball Club (), commonly referred to as BC Astana, is a Kazakh professional basketball club that is based in Astana, Kazakhstan. Founded in 2011, it has competed in the Kazakhstan Basketball Championship and the VTB United League since, obtaining many domestic titles in the process. History BC Astana was created in March 2011, with the aim of competing in the VTB United League. Valery Tikhonenko was chosen as the team's general director. There were doubts expressed by other clubs in the VTB United League, about whether or not the club would be a good addition to the competition, due to the lack of basketball tradition in Kazakhstan; but the side answered all the admission requirements, including their budget, stadium (a revamped Saryarka Velodrome) and the proximity of hotels, and an international airport.
