2013–14 Biathlon World Cup
The 2013–14 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 24 November 2013 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 23 March 2014 in Holmenkollen, Norway. Kaisa Mäkäräinen was the winner at the conclusion of the season with Tora Berger 2nd. However, the results of Olga Zaitseva were later annulled due do doping offences. The recalculation would have given overall world cup win to Berger, but the IBU made the decision based on the principle that clean athletes cannot be punished for the doping offenses of others. So, two first places were awarded in the women's overall. Selina Gasparin (born 3 April 1984) is a Swiss former biathlete. Biography She won a silver medal in the Individual at 2014 Winter Olympics. Gasparin competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Switzerland. Her best performance was 40th in the individual. She also finished 56th in the sprint and 48th in the pursuit. As of February 2013, her best performance at the Biathlon World Championships was 10th, as part of the 2012 Swiss mixed relay team. Her best individual performance is 12th in the 2012 sprint. As of February 2013, Gasparin's best individual performance in the Biathlon World Cup is 4th in the individual at Östersund in 2012/13. Marie-Laure Brunet (born 20 November 1988 in Lannemezan, Hautes-Pyrénées) is a retired French biathlete and Olympic athlete who won a bronze medal in the women's pursuit at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games of Vancouver. Laura Dahlmeier
Laura Dahlmeier (; born 22 August 1993) is a retired German biathlete. Dahlmeier started in her first world cup races in the 2012/13 season. In 2014, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. She won a record of five gold medals at the World Championships of 2017. In 2018 she became the first woman to win the biathlon sprint and pursuit in the same Olympics. During her career she has won a total of two golds and one bronze at the Olympics, seven gold medals, three silver medals and five bronze medals at World Championships, one overall World Cup and two discipline World Cup titles. Dahlmeier announced her retirement from competition in May 2019, at the age of 25. In October 2019, she released a children's book. Andrea Henkel
Andrea Burke, née Henkel (born 10 December 1977) is a retired German professional biathlete and the younger sister of Manuela Henkel, a successful cross-country skier. She trained at SV Großbreitenbach. Andrea Henkel started out as a cross-country skier but later specialised in biathlon when women's biathlon became an Olympic sport. Since the 1998/99 season, she was a regular member of the German team in the Biathlon World Cup. After several top-ten results, she could win her first World Cup event in 1999, her second year. She was most successful in the 2006/07 season, which she finished first in the overall standings. Franziska Preuß
Franziska Preuß (also spelled Preuss, born 11 March 1994) is a German biathlete and the World Cup winner of the 2024–25 season. She made her World Cup debut during the 2013–14 season and represented Germany at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Preuß has won gold medals at the Biathlon World Championships, triumphing in the relay in 2015 and the pursuit in 2025.
