The football section of Hong Kong Football Club ( Abbreviation: HKFC; ) fields a range of teams at various age divisions in the Hong Kong leagues. The first team currently competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. History While the football team has won many titles in the second-tier competition in recent years, they have rarely enjoyed success when playing against the professional sides in the First Division. In 1980 however, "CLUB" as they were commonly known, did manage to avoid relegation from the professional First Division for the first time in their history. Yuen Long Football Club (), previously known as Best Union Yuen Long () for sponsorship reasons, is a Hong Kong professional football club based in Yuen Long which currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. He injured a 17-year-old boy in Causeway Bay on 19 December 2007. On 22 July 2008, HKFA confirmed the Hong Kong First Division League team list for 2008-09 season. 13 teams will compete in the top division, among which TSW Pegasus and Xiangxue Eisiti will enter using competing membership, and they will need to sponsor one local cup competition each.
