The 2008–09 season in Hong Kong football, starting July 2008 and ending June 2009: Overview Events On 9 July 2008, South China goalkeeper Zhang Chunhui was sentenced imprisonment for 8 months due to inflicting grievous bodily harm upon another person. He injured a 17-year-old boy in Causeway Bay on 19 December 2007. On 22 July 2008, HKFA confirmed the Hong Kong First Division League team list for 2008-09 season. 13 teams will compete in the top division, among which TSW Pegasus and Xiangxue Eisiti will enter using competing membership, and they will need to sponsor one local cup competition each. South China Athletic Association (known simply as South China, SCAA, ) is a Hong Kong professional sports club with a football team competing in the Hong Kong First Division League, Hong Kong First Division, the second-tier league in Hong Kong football league system. Shi Liang (footballer)
Shi Liang (; born 11 May 1989) is a Chinese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for China League One club Foshan Nanshi. Club career Shi started his professional career with China League Two side Guangdong Sunray Cave in the 2007 league season. He scored one goal in four appearances as Guangdong Sunray Cave won promotion to the second tier at the end of the 2008 season. The following season he would help establish the club in the division and go on to be their top goalscorer with eight goals. Ng Wai Chiu (born 22 October 1981 in Hong Kong) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer. He was capped for Hong Kong at various youth levels, as well as the senior national team. Au Yeung Yiu Chung (; born 11 July 1989), commonly known as Au Chung, is a former Hong Kong professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
