2011–12 Euro Hockey League
The 2011–12 Euro Hockey League was the fifth season of the Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier club field hockey tournament organized by the European Hockey Federation, EHF. It was held at four different locations from October 2011 to May 2012. The #Final, final was played between UHC Hamburg, Hamburg and Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club, Amsterdam at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Hamburg defeated Amsterdam 2–1 on penalty strokes (2–2 after extra time) to win a record third title. HGC (field hockey), HGC were the defending champions, but they did not qualify for this season's edition. Association team allocation A total of 24 teams from 12 of the 45 European Hockey Federation, EHF member associations participated in the 2011–12 Euro Hockey League. WKS Grunwald Poznań is a Polish field hockey club, a section of the wider multi-sports club, from Poznań. It is historically one of the most successful clubs in the country and regularly competes in European competitions. History The section traces its roots to inter-war military club WKS Poznań, champions of Poland in 1935, 1936 and 1938. However the courts have decided that these titles are not formally recognised as belonging to WKS Grunwald. The section was created in January 1952. Cookstown Hockey Club
Cookstown Hockey Club is a hockey club based in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is affiliated to the Ulster Branch of the Irish Hockey Association and was founded in 1951. Banbridge Hockey Club is a hockey club based in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland. The club was formed in 1897. Grounds The club's first home was at Millmount Green, off the Lurgan Road in Banbridge. In 1949, the club purchased grounds at Castlewellan Road. Beeston Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Beeston, England. The club was founded in 1907, and plays its home games at the Nottingham Hockey Centre in Nottingham.
