2011 Women's County Championship
The 2011 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 15th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from April to September and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Kent Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, with Sussex finishing second. The Championship was Kent's fourth title, and their first of two titles in 2011, as they later won the 2011 Women's Twenty20 Cup. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship worked on a points system, with placings decided by average points of completed games. The England and Wales Cricket Board, aka ECB, is the Sports governing body, national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. It was formed on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body to combine the roles formerly fulfilled by the Test and County Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Council. Middlesex Women Cricket Team
The Middlesex Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English Historic counties of England, historic county of Middlesex. They are a tier two county side and play their home games at various grounds, including Lord's, Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood, Merchant Taylors' School and Radlett Cricket Club. They are captained by Saskia Horley. Staffordshire Women Cricket Team
The Staffordshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Staffordshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Tunstall Road, Knypersley and are captained by Stephanie Butler. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the West Midlands regional side Central Sparks. Scotland National Women's Cricket Team
The Scotland women's national cricket team represents Scotland in international women's cricket. The team is organised by Cricket Scotland, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Scotland was involved in the first international women's cricket match, when they played against England in August 1932. The team played sporadically throughout the remainder of the 20th century, with regular competition beginning only in 2000. Scotland's first international tournament was the 2001 European Championship, where matches held One Day International (ODI) status. In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. The Netherlands women's national cricket team, nicknamed the ''Lionesses'', represents the Netherlands in international women's cricket. Lancashire Women Cricket Team
The Lancashire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Lancashire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Beaconsfield Road, Widnes. They are coached by Chris Chambers and captained by Eleanor Threlkeld. The Warwickshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Warwickshire. Wales National Women's Cricket Team
The Wales women's cricket team is the Welsh team for women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds across the country, including Spytty Park, Newport and Pontarddulais Park, Pontarddulais. They are captained by Lauren Parfitt. As in men's cricket, Wales does not normally compete as a separate country internationally, instead being represented as part of the England team, but in 2005 they played in the European Championship tournament as it was being held in Wales. The Surrey Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Surrey, and was a replacement for regional team South East Stars. The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Emily Edgcombe.
