2010–11 Toronto Maple Leafs Season
The 2010–11 Toronto Maple Leafs season was the 94th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 22, 1917, and its 84th season since adopting the Maple Leafs name in February 1927. The Maple Leafs posted a regular season record of 37 wins, 34 losses and 11 overtime/shootout losses for 85 points, failing to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. Draft The Maple Leafs did not have a first round selection in the 2010 NHL entry draft, having traded it to the Boston Bruins in the Phil Kessel deal. The selection ended up being the second overall pick, which the Bruins used to select Tyler Seguin. The Leafs made their first selection in the second round, having traded Jimmy Hayes to the Chicago Blackhawks for the 43rd overall pick, used on Bradley Ross of the Portland Winterhawks. Eastern Conference (NHL)
The Eastern Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference (NHL), Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference (or Wales Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The Prince of Wales Trophy dates back to 1925, when it was donated to the League by the Prince of Wales, who later became Edward VIII, King Edward VIII and then the Duke of Windsor. The Toronto Maple Leafs (officially the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club and often referred to as the Leafs) are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. Petter Granberg
Petter Jonas Granberg (born 27 August 1992) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with Växjö Lakers in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Granberg was drafted 116th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career On 13 April 2014, Granberg made his NHL debut skating for the Toronto Maple Leafs during a 1–0 loss to the Ottawa Senators. Prior to the 2015–16 season, Granberg suffered an off-season injury, requiring surgery for a torn achilles. Nearing a return to playing after a four-month rehabilitation, Granberg was placed on waivers by the Maple Leafs. On 22 November 2015, Granberg was claimed off waivers by the Nashville Predators. Sondre Olden
Sondre Olden (born August 29, 1992) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing in the Swiss League. He previously played with Vålerenga of the Norwegian Eliteserien. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 3rd round (79th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has played for the Norwegian national team in several World Championships, as well as at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Playing career In July 2011, Olden signed with the major junior team Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. After the 2011–12 season, Olden was called up to the Toronto Marlies, where he received a try-out with the club. Greg McKegg
Greg McKegg (born June 17, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently a free agent. McKegg was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He notably wore number 69 in the preseason for the Maple Leafs. McKegg also became a fan favorite with the Rangers in both stints with the team. McKegg's great uncle was former NHL defenceman Lou Fontinato. Playing career McKegg played four seasons (2008–2012) of major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), for a short time with the London Knights, but the majority with the Erie Otters, scoring 125 goals and 145 assists for 270 points, while earning 143 penalty minutes, in 262 games played.
