Georgia (, ; ) is a transcontinental country at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. The 2009–10 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') was the 66th season overall and twentieth since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 25 August 2009 and ended with the Final on 26 May 2010. The defending champions were Dinamo Tbilisi. Round of 32 These matches were played on 25 and 26 August and 16 September 2009. Round of 16 In this round entered 12 winners from the previous round as well as four teams that finished first, second, third and fourth in last year's Umaglesi Liga: WIT Georgia, Dinamo Tbilisi, Olimpi Rustavi and Zestafoni. The 2009–10 Umaglesi Liga was the 21st season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on August 1, 2009, and ended on May 20, 2010. FC Olimpi Rustavi won the championship. Changes from 2008–09 Structural changes League size was reduced from 11 to 10 teams prior to this season. Promotion and relegation Borjomi were relegated to Pirveli Liga at the end of the season after finishing in 11th and last place. Other teams which will not participate in this year's championship are Mglebi and Meshketi, both due to unknown reasons. This means that originally relegated teams Gagra and Spartaki Tskhinvali will stay another season in Umaglesi Liga. Liga 3 (Georgia)
Liga 3, organized by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the third division of professional football in Georgia. Until 2017, when the current name was introduced, it was known as Meore Liga (the Second league). Structure and league system There were 20 teams competing in the league in 2017. In 2019, when Liga 4 was formed, their number was reduced to ten, although after two seasons GFF decided to extend the league to 14 at the expense of two bottom teams from the previous season and two second-placed clubs from Liga 4 While and Red Groups. For 2022 the number of clubs was increased to 16. Seasons run based on Spring-Autumn system with each team playing an equal amount of home and away games against their league rivals. 2010–11 Umaglesi Liga
The 2010–11 Umaglesi Liga was the 22nd season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 14 August 2010 and ended on 22 May 2011. Olimpi Rustavi are the defending champions, having won their second Georgian championship last season. FC Zestafoni claimed their first title. The league size was expanded from 10 teams in that season to 12 teams in following season. Therefore, there was no direct relegation to the Pirveli Liga in that season. Teams Lokomotivi Tbilisi and Gagra were relegated to Pirveli Liga at the end of last season after finishing in 9th and 10th place respectively. Promoted to Georgia's top football division were Pirveli Liga champions Torpedo 2008 Kutaisi and runners-up Kolkheti Poti. FC Meskheti Akhaltsikhe
FC Meskheti ('' Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი მესხეთი) is a defunct Georgian football club based in Akhaltsikhe. Most recently the club took part in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian league system, although in the late 2000s they spent two seasons in the top division. Meskheti ceased their activities in early 2021. History Founded in 2005, the club initially participated in Pirveli Liga for the first two years. Meskheti finished 2nd in 2007 and gained promotion to Umaglesi Liga, where they spent two seasons. In 2008 certain financial problems hit the club, which was denied assistance from the local municipality. The next July, unable to meet the requirements necessary for a top-league team, Meskheti were expelled to the second division with 3 points deducted.
