2007–08 Debreceni VSC Season
The 2007–08 season was Debreceni Vasutas Sport Club's 15th consecutive season in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I and 105th year in existence as a football club. In addition to the domestic league, Debrecen participated in this season's editions of the Magyar Kupa, the Ligakupa, the Szuperkupa and the UEFA Champions League. Debreceni Vasutas Sport Club is a Hungarian professional football club based in Debrecen that competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the first tier of Hungarian football. They are best known internationally for reaching the group stages of the UEFA Champions League in the 2009–10 season. Debrecen have become the second most successful club in Hungary since 2000, winning the Hungarian League seven times. History Debrecen was founded on 12 March 1902 as Debreceni Vasutas Sport Club. The club first reached the Nemzeti Bajnokság I in the 1943–44 season. Debrecen rose to domestic prominence in the early 2000s when they won their first Hungarian league title in 2004–05 season. Since then the club managed to win seven titles in the 2010s total. However, in the late 2010s the club lost its governmental support and started to decline. Norbert Mészáros
Norbert Mészáros (; born 19 August 1980) is a Hungarian professional association football, footballer who plays for Hajdúszoboszlói SE, Hajdúszoboszló. He is usually deployed as a central defender but can also play left back. Club career Born in Pápa, Mészáros started playing football with his local team Pápai ELC. In 2000, his career took off when he signed for Dunaújváros FC. Other teams he played for include BKV Előre SC, BKV Előre, BFC Siófok and the German team FC Energie Cottbus. Ádám Komlósi
Ádám Komlósi (; born 6 December 1977 in Budapest) is a Hungarian football player who currently plays for Debreceni VSC. Club career In 2002/03, he won the Hungarian championship for the first time with MTK Hungaria FC. After a disappointing 6th-place finish in the Hungarian championship in 2003/04, he moved on to Debreceni VSC who finished 3rd in that season. Since his move to the Debrecen side, Ádám won 3 Hungarian championship in a row from 2005 to 2007. International career In season 2003/04, he was called up by Lothar Matthäus in the Hungarian national squad. Gergely Rudolf (; born 9 March 1985) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Rudolf was born in Nyíregyháza. János Balogh (born 29 November 1982) is a Hungary, Hungarian association football, football coach and a former Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Tamás Sándor (born 20 June 1974) is a Hungarian football manager and former player who is the current manager of Nemzeti Bajnokság III club Debreceni EAC. Zsombor Kerekes (, born 13 September 1973) is a Hungarian retired footballer. Kerekes was a forward who was born in Senta, Serbia (back then still part of SFR Yugoslavia) and was a member of the Hungarian minority in Serbia. Despite being born in Senta, he grew up in the nearly town Ada, from where was his family descents. Tibor Dombi (; born 11 November 1973) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as a right midfielder.
