Tamás Sándor
Tamás Sándor (born 20 June 1974) is a Hungarian football manager and former player who is the current manager of Nemzeti Bajnokság III club Debreceni EAC. As a footballer he last played for Báránd KSE, and formerly for Debreceni VSC. Career Tamás Sándor began his career in his hometown team Debreceni VSC in 1991 and played for the side till 1997 when he joined Italian side Torino Calcio where he failed to impress. He was footballer of the year in 1996 in Hungary. He earned 11 caps for Hungary. He is three-time champion with Debrecen as a captain and all-time top goal scorer of the team. He represented the Hungary national team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where Hungary failed to progress from the group stage. Tamas had a wonderful four-year spell in one of the biggest Israeli clubs, Beitar Jerusalem, the fans loved him and until this very day they remember him as a great footballer and fantastic human being. The Hungarian Cup ( hu, Magyar Kupa) is the Hungarian cup competition for football clubs. It was started by the Hungarian Football Association, the ''Magyar Labdarúgó Szövetség,'' in 1909, eight years after the commencement of the Hungarian League ( hu, Nemzeti Bajnokság). Besides all of the professional clubs of Hungary numerous amateur sides take part every year. These have to qualify through local cup competitions. The most successful participant in the Magyar Kupa has been Ferencváros with 24 wins, followed by local rivals MTK with 12 cups. The Peace Cup was an invitational pre-season friendly football tournament for club teams which was held every two years by the Sunmoon Peace Football Foundation. It was usually contested by eight clubs from several continents, though 12 teams participated in 2009. The first three competitions were held in South Korea, and the 2009 Peace Cup was held in Madrid and Andalusia, Spain.
