2007 Úrvalsdeild
The 2007 season of Úrvalsdeild karla was the 96th season of top tier football in Iceland. Title contenders were considered to be KR, FH, ÍA and Valur. HK were playing for the first time in Landsbankadeild. The league was expanded from 10 teams to 12 teams after the 2007 season, therefore only one team was relegated and 3 were promoted from the 1. deild karla. The first match day of the season was on 12 May. Valur won the league for the first time in 20 years and Vikingur were relegated to 1. deild karla. Fram's Jónas Grani Garðarsson was the top scorer with 13 goals. Final league table Results Each team played every opponent once home and away for a total of 18 matches. Úrvalsdeild
The Besta deild karla () is a professional association football league in Iceland and the highest level of the Icelandic football league system. The competition was founded in 1912 as the Icelandic Championship. Because of the harsh winters in Iceland, it is generally played in the spring and summer (April to September). It is governed by the Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ) and has 12 teams. By the end of the 2022–23 season, UEFA ranked the league No. 48 in Europe. From 27 April 2009 to 2022, the league had an active agreement on the league's name rights with Ölgerðin, the Icelandic franchisee for Pepsi. From the 2019 season to the end of the 2021 season, the league was popularly referred to as Pepsi Max deildin (The Pepsi Max League). ''Knattspyrnufélagið Fram'' (, ) is a professional Icelandic sports club, best known for its football and handball teams. It was founded on 1 May 1908 in Reykjavík. It was based at Safamýri, in the Háaleiti og Bústaðir district near Reykjavík city centre before slowly moving operations to the newly established Grafarholt district. Matthías Vilhjálmsson (born 30 January 1987) is an Icelandic international footballer who plays as a striker for the Úrvalsdeild club Víkingur. He can as well play as a midfielder. He also played for the Icelandic national football team from 2009 to 2016. Matthías, also known as ''Matti Vill'', has previously played for the Icelandic clubs BÍ and FH, the English club Colchester United and the Norwegian club Start. Prince Linval Reuben Mathilda Rajcomar (born 25 April 1985) is a Curaçaoan professional footballer who plays as a forward for Tweede Klasse club Wilhelmina '08. At international level, he represented the Curaçao national team, scoring three goals in nine appearances. Bjarni Guðjónsson
Bjarni Eggerts Guðjónsson (born 26 February 1979) is an Icelandic former professional footballer, who was last manager of KR. He has played in Belgium, England and Germany and has two brothers who have also played professional football, Þórður and Jóhannes. All three played together at Genk. He is also the son of former footballer and now manager Guðjón Þórðarson. Club career Bjarni was born in Akranes.
