2007 Kabaddi World Cup (International Kabaddi Federation)
2007 Kabaddi World Cup was the second edition of the Kabaddi World Cup held by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF). It was organised by Karnala Sports Academy in India. Host India won the World Cup a second time by defeating Iran 29-19 in the final. A total of 14 originally 16 teams took part in the competition out of which 11 were Asian. 2016 Kabaddi World Cup (International Kabaddi Federation)
The 2016 Kabaddi World Cup was the third edition of the men's Kabaddi World Cup organised by the International Kabaddi Federation and contested from 7 to 22 October 2016 in Ahmedabad, India. Twelve countries competed in the tournament. India won their 3rd World Cup by defeating Iran 38–29 in the final. Participating countries Twelve teams competed in the tournament. Pakistan was originally scheduled to participate in the tournament, but was removed due to increased tensions between India and Pakistan. The Kabaddi World Cup, is an indoor international kabaddi tournament conducted by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF). It follows the standard style (indoors on a rectangular court) and is contested by men's and women's national teams. The format involves a round-robin group stage, including 5 teams in 2 pools, with the first and second place finishers of each group progressing to the semi-finals. The IKF World Cup men's tournament has been held three times and the women's event has been held only once. The tournaments were all held in India. In all cases, the events were won by the India team, and the team from Iran has always been the runner-up. The men's events were in 2004 in Mumbai, in 2007 in Panvel, and in 2016 in Ahmedabad.
