2006–07 Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The 2006–07 Nemzeti Bajnokság I, also known as NB I, was the 105th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''Borsodi Liga'' for sponsoring reasons. The season started on 28 July 2006 and ended on 28 May 2007. Debreceni VSC won their third national championship, and became the first team outside of Budapest to complete a three-peat. The club started off the season with coach Attila Supka, who resigned after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League. The team finished off the remainder of the season under Miroslav Beranek, and ended up winning the league eight points clear of MTK. Debrecen's title was confirmed on the 14th of May, upon overcoming Rákospalotai EAC 4-1. Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, NB II. Ibrahim Sidibe
Ibrahim Sidibe (born 10 August 1980) is a Senegalese former professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Debrecen In the summer of 2005 Ibrahim signed a contract with Debreceni VSC. He scored 15 goals in 28 matches during his first season, whilst in his second he scored 17 goals in 27 matches. That makes him 2 times to topscorer of the Hungarian top football league. In his third season he did not extend his contract, played 14 matches and he had to play as a leftback. As a result of that, he was not selected in the squad for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana. In January 2008, Sidibe moved to Sint-Truiden where he became a success, scoring many goals and helping the club promoting to the highest level in Belgian football. 2006–07 Magyar Kupa
The 2006-07 Hungarian Cup (''Hungarian: Magyar Kupa'') had involved professional teams at all levels throughout the country. The winner of the Hungarian Cup is guaranteed no worse than one of Hungary's two spots in the UEFA Cup. Pécsi Mecsek Football Club, commonly referred to as Pécsi MFC or simply PMFC, is a professional Hungarian football club based in Pécs, Baranya, that currently competes in the Hungarian third division. The club was established on 16 February 1973 by the merger of five other clubs from the city, Pécsi Dózsa, Pécsi Ércbányász SC, Pécsi Helyiipari SK, Pécsi Bányász and Pécsi Építők. Rákospalotai EAC is a Hungary, Hungarian association football club based in the Rákospalota quarter in the north-east of Budapest. Tatabánya (; ; ) is a city with county rights of 64,305 inhabitants in northwestern Hungary, in the Central Transdanubian region. It is the capital of Komárom-Esztergom County. Kaposvári Rákóczi FC is a football club in Kaposvár, Hungary. Their home stadium is Rákóczi Stadion. The team is named after Francis II Rákóczi, a Transylvanian prince and national hero and they are also often referred to be the nickname ''Somogyiak'', referring to Somogy County, where the team plays.
