2005–06 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2005–06 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 36th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 30 October 2005 and ended on 17 March 2006. James Stephens were the defending champions but were defeated by Portumna in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 17 March 2006 Portumna won the championship following a 2-8 to 1-6 defeat of Newtownshandrum in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title. James Stephens's Eoin Larkin was the championship's top scorer with 2-27. Eugene McEntee (born 1978 in Portumna, County Galway, Ireland) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Portumna and was a member of the Galway senior inter-county team in 2009. Celbridge GAA
Celbridge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. They were awarded Kildare GAA club of the year in 2008, winners of the Kildare Senior Club Football Championship, Kildare senior football championship of 2008, finalists in the senior football league of 1923, 1988 and 2008 and won the Kildare GAA, Kildare senior hurling and camogie championships in 2005. Clonguish GAA
Clonguish GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club in Newtownforbes, County Longford, Ireland. The club was formed on 20 October 1889 and was originally called Clonguish Gallowglasses. Situated in the west of County Longford, it is bordered by four parishes in County Longford, Drumlish, Killoe, Killashee and Templemichael (Longford) – the parish also shares a common boundary with the Province of Connacht in that it adjoins the parishes of Bornacoola and Gortletteragh in County Leitrim and Tarmonbarry in County Roscommon. The Irish for Clonguish is ''Cluain Geis'' which means 'The Meadow of the Swans'. Clonguish played their games at Curry Field in the Castleforbes Estate before moving to their new ground Centenary Park in 1984. Knockbridge GAA
Knockbridge GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Knockbridge, County Louth, Ireland. Founded in 1999, the club is solely concerned with the game of hurling. The club has won 12 Louth Senior Hurling Championship titles. History After hurling was first introduced to the Knockbridge area in 1984, Knockbridge Juvenile Hurling Club was established the following year. A number of under-12 and under-14 titles were secured over the next few years. An adult section of the juvenile club was founded on 12 November 1998. Knockbridge Hurling Club was eventually affiliated at the first County Committee meeting on 4 January 1999. A year later, the club won its first Louth Senior Hurling Championship title after a defeat of Wolfe Tones in the final. Castletown Geoghegan Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Castletown Geoghegan, County Westmeath, Ireland.
