VG-62 is a sports club based in Naantali, Finland. It was founded in 1962 and the name is an abbreviation of Naantali's old Latin name, "''Vallis gratiae''". VG-62 is particularly well known for their exemplary youth operations, for which the club has been recognised with a (Young Finland Association) award. Veikkausliiga () is a professional association football league in Finland and the highest level of the Finnish football league system. The league comprises the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''Mestaruussarja'' (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league. RoPS
Rovaniemen Palloseura (RoPS) is a football club founded in 1950 and based in Rovaniemi, Finland. RoPS played in the Finnish Premier Division, (''Veikkausliiga'') for 32 years, from 1981 to 2021. In 2021, RoPS withdrew from professional football and voluntarily relegated to the amateur ''Kakkonen'' division. The club plays home games at the Rovaniemen Keskuskenttä in the Arctic Circle of Lapland. History RoPS have won the Finnish Cup on two occasions, in 1986 and 2013, and were runners-up in 1962. Kakkonen
Kakkonen or II divisioona is the fourth level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. Until the end of 2023, ''Kakkonen'' was the third-highest level in Finland, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kakkonen also dropped down one level in the league pyramid. The new fourth-tier Kakkonen is divided to three groups, each consisting of 10 teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen ( Finnish for 'Number Two'; ). Sakari Tukiainen finished the season 2014 as the top goal scorer and setting a new league record with 40 goals for the Kakkonen. The 2006 season of the Veikkausliiga the 17th season in the league's history, which began on April 19 and ended on October 29. The league was originally supposed to have 14 teams, but AC Allianssi was refused a license, so the league was subsequently played with only 13 teams. Pallo-Iirot (abbreviated P-Iirot) is a football club from Rauma, Finland, Rauma in Finland. The club was formed in 1930 and their home ground is at the Äijänsuon stadion. The men's first team currently plays in the Kakkonen. The Chairman of Pallo-Iirot is Tarmo Salvi. Background The club was known as Iirot when it was established in 1930 and it has since taken a number of forms: * Iirot Rauma until 1968 * Hakrit Rauma from 1969 to 1981 (merger with Lukko Rauma) * Pallo-Iirot Rauma since 1982 In the 1940s, the club also played bandy for a few years.
