Erovnuli Liga
The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა; ) is the top Division (sport), division of professional top tier Association football, football in Georgia (Country), Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017, the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. FC Dila Gori
FC Dila ('' Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი დილა) is a Georgian professional football club based in Gori. The club takes part in the Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Georgian football, and plays their home games at the Tengiz Burjanadze Stadium. Dila won the Georgian Cup in 2012 and Georgian Championship in 2015. History In the Soviet leagues Founded in 1949, the club was named after poem "Dila" (literally - ''morning'') written by Joseph Stalin, who was born in the city and spent his youth there. Until 1961, they played under the name ''Dinamo Gori'' in Group A of Georgian republican championship. Georgi Adamia ( ka, გიორგი ადამია; born 10 March 1981) is a former Georgian football forward. In 2010, he became most capped foreign player in Azerbaijan Premier League. Career Club WIT Georgia Georgi Adamia started his career in his home country Georgia, in the club FC WIT Georgia. In 2004, the club won the Umaglesi Liga championship. Neftchi Baku After this, Adamia was noticed by Azerbaijan champions Neftchi Baku PFK, Neftchi Baku and he was bought by the club. Revaz Gotsiridze
Revaz Gotsiridze ( ka, რევაზ გოცირიძე; born 17 January 1981) is a Georgian football manager and a former player, currently in charge of Erovnuli Liga 2 club Gonio. Club career Gotsiridze started playing football at the age of 10 at ''Norchi Dinamo''. Later he joined the reserve team of Dinamo Tbilisi under Vakhtang Kopaleishvili before signing for WIT Georgia. Gotsiridze left Georgia for Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in April 2003. But in end of season he was sent back to WIT Georgia. At WIT Georgia, he became team top-scorer and scored in champions playoffs to win Umaglesi Liga in 2004. At the end of season he left Georgia again, this time to KAMAZ Naberezhnye Chelny of Russian First Division. Vitaly Kukhinovich Daraselia ( ka, ვიტალი დარასელია; Abkhaz: Витали Кәыхьын-иԥа Дараселиа; 9 January 1957 – 13 December 1982) was a Georgian football player. Playing career Club Daraselia was born to a Georgian father and Abkhaz mother on 9 January 1957. His birth date was later changed by Soviet sports officials to 9 October 1957 so that he could play longer for the national junior team. Daraselia also played for FC Dinamo Tbilisi and Soviet Union senior national team. He scored a winning goal for FC Dinamo Tbilisi in 1981, in the final game of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, rushing into the penalty area past two defenders, just 3 minutes before the full-time whistle. FC Mtskheta, renamed to Mtskheta-Urioni in the 2003–04 season, was a Georgian association football club based in Mtskheta. The club played its matches at Armazi Stadium, currently called Mtskheta Park. History In the 2001–02 season the club participated in Regionuli Liga (eastern zone), where they took first place. In 2002–03 Mtskheta played in Pirveli Liga, where they finished third and qualified for a play-off game. After a 1:0 extra-time win against Gorda Rustavi they secured promotion to Umaglesi Liga. The next season the club took the 9th place in the league and was relegated after losing a play-off match, in which Gorda Rustavi took revenge for the previous year's loss. Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues.
