FC Mtskheta (2001–2004)
FC Mtskheta, renamed to Mtskheta-Urioni in the 2003–04 season, was a Georgian association football club based in Mtskheta. The club played its matches at Armazi Stadium, currently called Mtskheta Park. History In the 2001–02 season the club participated in Regionuli Liga (eastern zone), where they took first place. In 2002–03 Mtskheta played in Pirveli Liga, where they finished third and qualified for a play-off game. After a 1:0 extra-time win against Gorda Rustavi they secured promotion to Umaglesi Liga. The next season the club took the 9th place in the league and was relegated after losing a play-off match, in which Gorda Rustavi took revenge for the previous year's loss. 2002–03 Pirveli Liga was the 14th season of the Georgian Pirveli Liga. The season began on 4 September 2002 and ended on 31 May 2003. Format There were 16 teams in the league taking part in a two-round competition. The top two teams gained automatic promotion to Umaglesi Liga, the third-placed club entered in play-off contest against the top-tier side and the bottom three teams were relegated. Georgian Cup
The Georgian Cup ( ka, საქართველოს თასი) is the main annual association football knockout cup competition in Georgia. It is organized by the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) and is open to clubs of all divisions. The tournament was established in 1990 alongside the formation of the independent Georgian national league, and since 1993 has been officially named the David Kipiani Cup in honor of the famous Georgian footballer David Kipiani. The winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa Conference League and also competes in the Georgian Super Cup against the national league champion. FC Rustavi ('' Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი რუსთავი) is a Georgian football club based in the city of Rustavi. They compete in Erovnuli Liga 2, the 2nd tier of Georgian football. Founded in 2015, it is one of the youngest participants of the Georgian football leagues. The team has spent two seasons in the top division. The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by the GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. The league was introduced for the 2017 season under the current name as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. The runner-up and 3rd placed team participate in two-legged home and away play-off matches against the 9th and 8th placed clubs of Erovnuli Liga, respectively. Regionuli Liga ( Georgian: რეგიონული ლიგა), run by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the fifth and lowest division of the Georgian league system after Erovnuli Liga, Erovnuli Liga 2, Liga 3 and Liga 4. Its participants are both professional clubs and reserve teams of higher league members. Prior to the introduction of Liga 4 in 2019, Regionuli Liga was the fourth tier. Structure As the name implies, the league is based on regional principle. Depending on the number of participating clubs, it is divided into several groups. In 2017, there were forty teams allocated in three groups. The next year two zones were created for teams based in western Georgia and two more for the eastern regions.
