2002–03 England Hockey League Season
The 2002–03 English Hockey League season took place from September 2002 until May 2003. The men's title was won by Cannock with the women's title going to Slough. There were no playoffs to determine champions after the regular season but there was a competition for the top four clubs called the Premiership tournament which culminated with men's & women's finals on 5 May. The Men's Cup was won by Reading and the Women's Cup was won by Canterbury. Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. Chelmsford Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Chelmsford, Essex, England. The club's home ground is at Chelmer Park, with a capacity of 100 seats and numerous standing. James Fair (field Hockey)
James John W. Fair (born 8 January 1981) is an English former field hockey player who played as a goalkeeper for England and Great Britain and competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Biography Fair was born in Chester, England and from 1989 to 1999 he was educated at The King's School, Chester. He graduated from Birmingham University in 2003 in Geography and Geology. Fair played club hockey for Cannock in the Men's England Hockey League and while at the club, he made his international debut in 2005, represented England at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and was selected as a travelling reserve to represent Great Britain in the 2008 Summer Olympics, although he did not play any matches. Jonty Clarke
Jonathan Clarke (born 28 January 1981) is an English former field hockey player who played as a forward for England and Great Britain. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Biography Clarke was born in Rochford, Essex and brought up in the town of Southend. He was educated at Southend High School for Boys and studied Economics at the University of Reading. Mark Pearn
Markus Wornden Pearn (born 21 March 1977) is a male retired English field hockey player who competed at two Olympic Games. Biography Pearn was a member of the England and Great Britain squads, making his debut for England against the Netherlands in the 1995 Champions Trophy in Berlin. He scored his first international goal against India in the tournament to become the youngest player to score for England at just 18 years old. Pearn played club hockey for Gloucester City before joining Reading for the 1995/1996 season. Richard Mantell
Richard Bryce Mantell (born 17 August 1981) is an English former field hockey defender who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He is the older brother of Simon Mantell. Simon Graham Mason (born 30 March 1973) is an English male former field hockey goalkeeper who competed at three Olympic Games in 1996, 2000 and 2004. Beeston Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Beeston, England. The club was founded in 1907, and plays its home games at the Nottingham Hockey Centre in Nottingham.
