In the 2001 DFS Classic women's tennis tournament, Lisa Raymond was the defending singles champion, but was defeated in the semifinals by Nathalie Tauziat. Tauziat went on to win the title, defeating Miriam Oremans in the final 6–3, 7–5. Nathalie Tauziat
Nathalie Tauziat (born 17 October 1967) is a French former professional tennis player and coach. She was the runner-up in women's singles at the 1998 Wimbledon Championships and runner-up in the women's doubles at the 2001 US Open partnering Kimberly Po-Messerli. She reached a career-high ranking of world No. 3 in both singles and doubles. She previously coached Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu and compatriot Harmony Tan. Early life Tauziat was born in Bangui, Central African Republic, where she lived for the first eight years of her life. She is a first cousin of Didier Deschamps, former captain and current manager of the French football team. Lucie Ahl (born 23 July 1974) is a tennis coach and a former professional tennis player. She was briefly the British No.1, holding the position for 9 non-consecutive weeks between 30 July 2001 and 5 May 2002. She reached her highest singles ranking of world No.161 on 1 April 2002. Career She won seven singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit in her career and nearly cracked the top 50.
