Billboard Latin Music Awards
The ''Billboard'' Latin Music Awards grew out of the ''Billboard'' Music Awards program from ''Billboard'' magazine, an industry publication charting the sales and radio airplay success of musical recordings. The ''Billboard'' awards are the Latin music industry’s longest running award. The award ceremonies are held during the same week as Latinfest+ (formerly known as the ''Billboard'' Latin Music Conference). The first award ceremony began in 1994. In addition to awards given on the basis of success on the Billboard charts, the ceremony includes the Spirit of Hope award for humanitarian achievements and the Lifetime Achievement award, as well as awards by the broadcasting partner. Musician Enrique Iglesias has won 47 awards, the colombian Shakira has won 42 awards, and is the most awarded female. Chayanne
Elmer Figueroa Arce (born June 28, 1968), better known under the stage name Chayanne, is a Puerto Rican Latin pop singer and actor. As a solo artist, Chayanne has released 21 albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists. Chayanne participated in two Puerto Rican telenovelas broadcast by the well-known WAPA-TV television station as for the 80s. Francisco Fabián Céspedes Rodríguez, also known as Pancho Céspedes (born 28 February 1957) is a Grammy-nominated Latin American singer, musician, and songwriter born in Santa Clara, Cuba. Sentidos Opuestos
Sentidos Opuestos is a Mexican Latin pop music duo, formed by singer Alessandra Rosaldo and keyboardist Chacho Gaytan. Its career started in the early 1990s under the instructions of local producer Miguel Blasco. Rosaldo had been a support singer for some pop numbers in México, before starting what would be her first lead singing act. The group released a self-titled debut album in 1993, with their songs "Historias de Amor" and "Escribeme en el Cielo" appearing on local charts. Mecano
Mecano was a Spanish pop band formed in 1981 and active until 1992. Mecano became one of the most successful Spanish pop bands of all time. The band is still the best-selling Spanish band, with over 25 million records worldwide. They were considered by some to be avant-garde for their time and part of la Movida Madrileña countercultural movement. They had a brief comeback in 1998. The band's line-up was singer Ana Torroja and brothers Nacho and José María Cano, who worked alongside session musicians such as Arturo Terriza, Manolo Aguilar, Nacho Mañó, Javier Quílez, Ángel Celada and Óscar Astruga. El Reencuentro was the name that six ex-members of musical group Menudo used for their comeback project remembering Menudo's golden era. Ricky Melendez, Rene Farrait, Miguel Cancel, Johnny Lozada, Ray Reyes, and Charlie Masso re-joined to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their success in Latin America, North America, Spain and several other countries in the world. ''El Color De Los Sueños'' is the third studio album by Mexican singer Fey. It was released in November 3, 1998 by Sony Music Entertainment Mexico. Controversy The album was much less successful than the artist's previous album, ''Tierna La Noche'', arguably because of the controversies that came about during this time.
