Cypriot Fourth Division
The Cypriot Fourth Division () was the fourth tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, ran by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league were promoted to the Cypriot Third Division, and the lowest finishing teams were relegated to the amateur leagues. History The Cypriot Fourth Division started the 1985–86 football season as the fourth level of the Cypriot football. The decision was taken by CFA on 23 July 1985. The first eight seasons the championship was split into three or four geographical groups, representing the Districts of Cyprus. From 1993–94 Cypriot Fourth Division, 1993–94 season until 2014–15 Cypriot Fourth Division, 2014–15 season, the championship was held as a single division. In all seasons, all the teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. ASIL Lysi
ASIL Lysi () is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the . History The club was founded in Lysi, Famagusta on June 26, 1932. Club founders were Ch. Fokaides, Ch. Panayides, K. Rousi and N. Petrou. The choice for the club's name is attributed to Demetris Lambrou. The club had its own stadium in Lysi. The stadium was called «Grigoris Afxentiou Stadium» as a memory of EOKA hero Grigoris Afxentiou who was born in Lysi and he was a player of ASIL. ASIL stadium was one of the first stadiums in Cyprus with grass. After the 1974 Turkish invasion, ASIL used Tsirion Stadium in Limassol as its ground and since 1978 the club is based in Larnaca. The 1995–96 Cypriot First Division was the 57th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. APOEL won their 16th title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1995–96 Cypriot First Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The last three teams were relegated to the 1996–97 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot teams didn't gained enough points in the previous seasons and so the champion team did not qualify to 1996–97 UEFA Champions League. The champions and the runners-up ensured their participation in the 1996–97 UEFA Cup. The teams had to declare their interest to participate in the 1996 UEFA Intertoto Cup before the end of the championship.
