1990–91 Oklahoma State Cowboys Basketball Team
The 1990–91 Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team represented Oklahoma State University as a member of the Big Eight Conference during the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Eddie Sutton and played their home games at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys finished with a record of 24–8 (10–4 Big Eight) and won the Big Eight regular season title. Oklahoma State received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as No. 3 seed in the East region. After defeating New Mexico in the opening round, the school's first NCAA Tournament win in 26 years, the Cowboys defeated NC State to reach the Sweet Sixteen. Eddie Sutton
Edward Eugene Sutton (March 12, 1936 – May 23, 2020) was an American college basketball coach. A native of Bucklin, Kansas, Sutton played college basketball at Oklahoma A&M (later Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball, Oklahoma State) and was a head coach at the high school, junior college, and college levels spanning six decades. After beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State under Henry Iba, Sutton was a successful head coach at Tulsa Central High School and the College of Southern Idaho. Sutton began coaching at the NCAA level in 1969 at Creighton Bluejays men's basketball, Creighton University, followed by Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball, Arkansas from 1974 to 1985, Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky from 1985 to 1989, and Oklahoma State from 1990 to 2006. Star Spencer High School
Star Spencer High School is located in Spencer, Oklahoma. The official mascot for the school is the Bobcats. Star Spencer is part of the Oklahoma City Public Schools. The 1990–91 New Orleans Privateers men's basketball team represented the University of New Orleans during the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
