Eddie Sutton
Edward Eugene Sutton (March 12, 1936 – May 23, 2020) was an American college basketball coach. A native of Bucklin, Kansas, Sutton played college basketball at Oklahoma A&M (later Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball, Oklahoma State) and was a head coach at the high school, junior college, and college levels spanning six decades. After beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State under Henry Iba, Sutton was a successful head coach at Tulsa Central High School and the College of Southern Idaho. Sutton began coaching at the NCAA level in 1969 at Creighton Bluejays men's basketball, Creighton University, followed by Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball, Arkansas from 1974 to 1985, Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky from 1985 to 1989, and Oklahoma State from 1990 to 2006. Bucklin, Kansas
Bucklin is a city in Ford County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 727. It is located along U.S. Route 54 highway. History The community was originally called Corbitt when it was laid out about 1885. It was renamed Bucklin in 1887, after Bucklin Township. Bucklin was incorporated in 1909. The 2004 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. It was played from March 11 to 14 in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center. Oklahoma State won the tournament for the 1st time and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2004 NCAA tournament. Baylor removed itself from postseason play, including the conference tournament, before the 2003–04 season due to the Baylor University basketball scandal. Because of this, Texas Tech got a bye in the first round of the tournament. Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament
The Big 12 men's basketball tournament (known since its inception in 1997 under sponsorship agreements as the Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament) is the championship men's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top six seeds getting byes in the first round. Seeding is based on regular season records. The winner of the tournament receives the Big 12 Conference automatic bid to the NCAA Championship tournament. Between 2005 and 2019, no current Big 12 member besides Iowa State or Kansas won the tournament, and those two schools have won 18 of 27 titles. The remaining current Big 12 schools only account for six additional tournament titles. The Big Eight Conference was a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)-affiliated Division I-A college athletic association that sponsored American football, football. It was formed in January 1907 as the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MVIAA) by its charter member schools: the University of Kansas, University of Missouri, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, University of Nebraska, and Washington University in St. Louis.
