The 1986 Cupa României Final was the 48th final of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. It was disputed between Dinamo București and Steaua București, and was won by Dinamo București after a game with one goal. It was the sixth cup for Dinamo București. 1985–86 Cupa României
The 1985–86 Cupa României was the 48th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Dinamo București against Steaua București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, then the winner will be established at penalty kicks. From the first edition, the teams from Divizia A entered in competition in sixteen finals, rule which remained till today. Iulian Mihăescu
Iulian Mihăescu (born 11 September 1962) is a Romanian footballer who played as a midfielder and defender. Club career Mihăescu was born on 11 September 1962 in Târgoviște, starting his senior career by playing as a forward at Divizia B club, Flacăra Moreni. In 1985, he was transferred at Dinamo București, where he played mainly in the defense, making his Divizia A debut on 8 March 1986 when coach Mircea Lucescu sent him on the field at half-time to replace Alexandru Nicolae in a 3–1 victory with FCM Bacău. Costel Orac
Costel Orac (born 22 January 1959) is a Romanian retired footballer and current coach. Club career Costel Orac was born on 22 January 1959 in Galați, starting to play junior level football in 1970 at local club, Politehnica, moving one year later at neighboring club, FCM . He made his Divizia A debut on 22 August 1976, playing for FCM Galați in a 1–0 loss in front of Jiul Petroșani, the team relegating after his first season but he stayed with the club, helping it promote back to the first league after two years. Lică Stavarache Movilă (born 21 October 1961) is a Romanian former footballer, who played primarily as a midfielder. Club career Lică Movilă was born in Brăila on 21 October 1961 and made his Divizia A debut on 21 June 1981 for SC Bacău in a 5–2 loss against Argeș Pitești. He spent three seasons with SC Bacău and midway through the 1982–83 season, he was transferred to Dinamo București. In his first two seasons at Dinamo București he won the title, under the guidance of coach Nicolae Dumitru appearing in 16 matches with four goals scored in the first one and making 19 appearances with one goal in the second. Marin Dragnea (born 1 January 1956) is a former Romanian footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Marin Dragnea was born on 1 January 1956 in Slobozia Moară, Romania. He started playing football at the junior squads of Progresul București under coach Nicolae Gorgorin, starting to play at senior level in 1972 when the club was in Divizia B, being given his debut by coach Eugen Iordache and later working with Viorel Mateianu. Ioan Varga (born 5 January 1959) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Varga was born on 5 January 1959 in Iclod, Romania. He started his senior football career in 1978 at Divizia B club, Mureșul Deva. Nelu Stănescu
Nelu Stănescu (4August 195711March 2004) was a Romanian football left defender. Club career Nelu Stănescu was born on 1 January 1956 in Babadag, Romania. He was a left defender and started playing football in the lower leagues at Granitul Babadag and Delta Tulcea. Ioan Andone (; born 15 March 1960) is a Romanian professional football coach and former player. Club career Corvinul Hunedoara Ioan Andone, nicknamed "Fălcosul" was born on 15 March 1960 in Șpălnaca , and when he was 14 years old, he played basketball and football simultaneously, Carol Gal being his first football coach at Școala Sportivă Hunedoara. Mircea Rednic (born 9 April 1962) is a Romanian professional football coach and former player who played as a defender, who is currently the head coach of Belgian Pro League club Standard Liège. Playing career Corvinul Hunedoara Rednic, nicknamed "Puriul" was born on 9 April 1962 in Hunedoara and until he was 14 years old he played table tennis, handball, volleyball and chess before starting to play football at Corvinul Hunedoara's youth center under the guidance of coach Remus Vlad.
