1984–85 Greek Football Cup
The 1984–85 Greek Football Cup was the 43rd edition of the Greek Football Cup. Tournament details Totally 76 teams participated, 16 from Super League Greece, Alpha Ethniki, 20 from Football League Greece, Beta, and 40 from Gamma Ethniki, Gamma. It was held in 7 rounds, included final. An additional round was held between first and second, with 6 matches, in order that the teams would continue to be 32. It was the first Greek Cup final since 1979–80 Greek Football Cup, 1980, where the two finalists were clubs not based on Attica, Athlitiki Enosi Larissa F.C., AEL and PAOK FC, PAOK. The two teams had lost in the four previous Finals. PAOK had eliminated two fellow-citizens, Iraklis F.C. Panegialios ( (''Panegialios Gymnastics Club'', referring to Aigialeia, a subprefecture covering the northeastern part of Achaea) is a football club based in Aigio, Greece. Panegialios has a long tradition in Greek football championships and has several appearances in the Greek Super League (former A' Ethniki), 2nd Division and 3rd Division. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals " away from home" wins the tiebreaker. In sports (especially association football), a two-legged tie is a contest between two teams which comprises two matches or "legs", with each team as the home team in one leg. Christos Dimopoulos
Christos Dimopoulos (, born 6 September 1959) is a retired Greek footballer who played as a forward for PAOK and Panathinaikos F.C. His nickname was "Fonias" (''Φονιάς'', meaning Killer) of Greek football. Alongside his brothers, Thanasis Dimopoulos and Spyros, he holds the world record for the highest number of siblings scoring on the same day on 2 February 1992 in the Greek first division. Career Dimopoulos was born in Gastouni, Greece. He started his professional career in Aias Gastounis. He played for PAOK from 1980 to 1985, scoring 47 league goals in 112 appearances and 5 UEFA Europa League goals in 8 appearances with the club. With PAOK he won one greek championship. At the end of the 1985 season, Dimopoulos signed to Panathinaikos and later played professional with Athinaikos F.C. and Kalamata F.C.
