EHF Champions League
The EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked first place in the EHF European League, currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. The remaining six positions are designated through wildcards, with each national federation without two teams already qualified able to submit a single applicant. Currently, SMUC Marseille competes in the French First League of Handball. Between 1989 and 1996 the team was called OM Vitrolles, and acted as a part of the broader sports club Olympique de Marseille and was economically surported by them. Atlético Madrid Balonmano was a handball team that was part of the Atlético sports organization. History Created in the early 1950s, it won 11 Spanish Leagues and 10 Spanish Cups between 1952 and 1987, and reached the final of the 1984-85 European Cup and the 1986-87 EHF Cup; they lost both to, respectively, Metaloplastika Šabac and Granitas Kaunas. Aarhus HÃ¥ndbold was a handball club from Aarhus, Denmark. The club was founded in 2001 originally under the name Ã…rhus GF, as an extension of the traditional Aarhus clubs AGF, Brabrand IF, VRI and Ã…rhus KFUM/YMCA / Hasle. AGF chose in 2010 to withdraw from the superstructure, and the club was renamed from AGF HÃ¥ndbold to Aarhus HÃ¥ndbold. The home arena of Aarhus HÃ¥ndbold was Ceres Arena. The club struggled in the last year of its existence with economic problems and in April 2021 the club was declared bankrupt. In connection with this all the players from Aarhus HÃ¥ndbold were released and Ã…rhus HÃ¥ndbold merged with the neighbors from Skanderborg HÃ¥ndbold under the name Skanderborg Aarhus HÃ¥ndbold. Redbergslids IK (RIK), is a professional handball team from Gothenburg, Sweden founded in 1916. Redbergslid is the most successful club in Sweden, having won 20 Swedish Championship titles.
