1965–66 Cypriot Cup
The 1965–66 Cypriot Cup was the 24th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 13 clubs entered the competition. It began with the first round on 4 June 1966 and concluded on 29 June 1966 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium (1902). Apollon won their 1st Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Nea Salamis 4–2 in the final. Cypriot Cup
The Cypriot Cup, formally known as the Cypriot Coca-Cola Cup of First and Second Division () for sponsorship purposes, is a Cypriot knockout football club competition, hosted annually by the Cyprus Football Association. First held in 1934, it is the second most important competition in Cypriot football, after the Cypriot First Division. Since 2008, it is contested by teams from the first and Cypriot Second Division, second division, while teams from the Cypriot Third Division, third and STOK Elite Division, fourth division compete in the Cypriot Cup for lower divisions. The winners of the Cypriot Cup qualify for one of UEFA competitions, UEFA's European competitions, and a place in the Cypriot Super Cup. APOEL FC, APOEL are the most successful team in the competition with 21 titles. Apollon Limassol FC (, ''Apollon Lemesou'') is a Cypriot sports club, based in Limassol. It has football, basketball and volleyball teams. Nea Salamis Famagusta FC (alternatively Nea Salamina, ) is a Cyprus, Cypriot professional Association football, football Sports club, club based in Ammochostos (also known by its Romanization of Greek, romanized name, Famagusta). It has been a refugee club since the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, when Turkey occupied the northern part of the island. There are also fraternal relations with Olympiakos Piraeus.The club is temporarily based in Larnaca and supported by Merdian. GSP Stadium (1902)
GCP Stadium () was a Association football, football stadium in Nicosia, Cyprus. It had a capacity of 12,000 and was built in 1902 with donations given by Greek Cypriot Nicosians. On 17 October 1934, after a general assembly of the GCP association, the stadium was renamed "GCP Stadium, Eugenia and Antonios Theodotou" in honour of the stadium's major benefactors. The stadium served as the home stadium for the Nicosia football clubs of Enosis Neon Trust, Trust, APOEL F.C., APOEL, Olympiakos Nicosia, AC Omonia, Omonia, Orfeas Nicosia, Armenian Young Men's Association, AYMA and Çetinkaya Türk S.K. The Cyprus national football team had also played home games there in the past. It was located at the centre of Nicosia and often used for large music concerts as well.
